I am a Research Professor and a PhD supervisor at the College of Computer Science, Sichuan University. Before that, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at PolyU NLP Group. I obtained my PhD degree from Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2024, supervised by Prof. Maggie Wenjie Li. During the spring and summer of 2024, I visited the SLED Lab at University of Michigan, where I was honored to work with Prof. Joyce Chai. During my graduate studies, I was fortunate to visit SIAT, Chinese Academy of Sciences and work with Prof. Min Yang. I obtained MSc and BEng degrees from School of Computer Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology.

Research

My research interests are in natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and AI for Science more broadly. Recently, I have been focusing on the following directions:

LLM-based Agents: world models for agents (arXiv'26), embodied agents (ACL Findings'26a), task tutoring (ACL Findings'25a), agentic RL (arXiv'25a), context/memory management, etc.
Reasoning and Interaction: strategic reasoning (ACL'26a), situated interaction (ACL'26b), reasoning belief (ACL Findings'26b) test-time scaling (arXiv'25b, AAAI'26), latent reasoning (arXiv'25c), multi-turn consistency (ACL'24), etc.
AI for Biomedicine: AI agents for drug discovery and clinical healthcare.

[Oct. 2023] I got two papers accepted by EMNLP 2023! I will be heading to Singpore in December.

[Jul. 2023] I will be heading to Toronto for ACL 2023. This is the first time to attend an in-person academic conference during my PhD journey, and the first time to visit abroad during my life!

[Apr. 2023] I passed the confirmation of registration at PolyU. Officially became a PhD candidate!
